Sunday Netwalking to SAPA
10 November @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
For this Sunday Netwalking event, we will walk & talk in the lovely Kunratice forest and visit Sapa – the “little Hanoi” of Prague.
Sapa (named after the town in north Vietnam) is the largest trading and cultural center of the Czech Vietnamese community. It is located on the southern outskirts of the Capital in Prague 4 – Libus.
Sapa is definitely NOT the most beautiful part of town, however, the place is worth vising. Even more so, if you’re a fan of Vietnamese food and/or need to buy some special ingredients for your cooking.
Besides, the Czech Vietnamese community is a phenomenon, you should certainly learn more about!
• Pleasant walk in the second largest forest in Prague – Kunraticky Wood
• The ruins of Novy hrad u Kunratic – the place where the Czech king and Roman emperor Wenceslas IV. (son of Charles IV.) died in 1419. The castle was then ransacked and burned down by the Hussite fighters in 1421. The remnants of the siege are still visible today!
• Lunch in one of many restaurants in the SAPA Vietnamese Market Place AKA Little Hanoi. Supposedly one can get here the best Vietnamese food in the whole of Czechia!
8 km long walk, suitable for people who are new to hiking and want to built-up their stamina. We should make it in 2,5 hours with ease. Nevertheless, take good walking shoes, as there are places where the trail is rather rugged.
This is child friendly event!
We’re going to meet outside of the metro C station Roztyly on Saturday Nov 10 at 10:00 AM
The hiking part should end around 12:30 PM.
