Texas Holdem Poker Tournament (for beginners or better)
19 April @ 7:30 pm - 11:45 pm
This is meant entirely as a way for freelancers, remote workers, digital nomads and other independent workers to get together and have fun (and learn Texas Holdem poker if you don’t know the game already). There’s a 100 Kc buy in and the opportunity for rebuys if you’d like, but all money is returned to the top finishing players.
We’ll run a tutorial for people new to poker or Texas Holdem, 1/2 hour before this event, but only if join that separate event so we know it’s needed.
You must sign up separately for the tutorial (only if you need it). Look for the event in this meetup group on the same date, starting 1/2 hour earlier.
Poker tournaments are fun, they’re a great way to learn how to play poker, and even complete beginners who play relatively conservatively can do quite well. Texas Holdem is the game you see on TV all the time these days. It’s the game they play at the main event of the World Series of Poker. It is by far the single most popular version of poker played on line and in casinos around the world. But if you hope to win, plan to stay late! Often the final few players miss the last metro.
