On Monday the 23rd of December, a curious incident took place in the village of Horní Police, North Bohemia. A Christmas carp jumped onto the drivers’ lap and caused a serious collision.
The 62-year-old woman was driving back home alone with the traditional Christmas dish when the fish jumped into her lap. The fish had managed to escape from a plastic bag on the passengers’ seat. The carps last bid for freedom caused the driver to lose control and crash.
According to police spokeswoman Ivana Baláková, the woman was so shocked she lost control of her vehicle, drove into the open road, knocked down a traffic sign and then crashed into a concrete pole.
The driver suffered a fractured ankle and a bruised chest and had to be transported from the scene to the hospital via helicopter.
Police warn drivers to properly secure their carps- you never know when they’ll try to breakout!
