Well. Here we are. It’s mid-May and the virus has stolen most of the spring from us save for socially distanced walks or bike rides in the park… but the Czech Republic has managed to keep the number of people affected by the pandemic relatively small and so, with the world watching, the government has decided to slowly re-open the country (see our previous article on specific dates here: https://cz.cityspy.network/prague/features/the-czech-republic-moves-its-re-opening-schedule-forward-while-other-countries-watch-closely/) and, fortunately, we can take advantage of the gorgeous summer weather!
After losing the Beer Garden at Riegrovy Sady, many locals were left wondering if a new player would step in and create a fresh space where we could hang out while enjoying some good food and a frosty mug of pivo. Well, we finally have our answer… and the timing couldn’t be better.
Allow me to introduce you to Beer Garden Karlín. Located not far from the banks of the Vltava in the trendy Karlín neighborhood, this new establishment looks to reinvigorate the Beer Garden experience in Prague.
Beer Garden Karlín offers five beers on tap (including lager, semi-dark, and wheat) as well as a variety of savory food (burgers, hot dogs, dark beer marinated ribs) and even ice cream for the kids, and right now they’re kicking off with some great deals…
People in Prague like to joke that “beer is cheaper than water” here, and that’s definitely true at Beer Garden Karlín where, right now, you can get a beer starting at 25 crowns! They also have a Happy Hour, but where most happy hours simply mean a discounted price, Beer Garden Karlín is currently offering every third beer on the house from 3-6pm each day. Crazy! If beer isn’t your thing, try their Gin & Tonic special.
Run by the Hilton, Beer Garden Karlín should be at the top of your list as you venture, at long last, out of your homes and flats and look to reconnect with friends. You can even bring your pets. All are welcome to enjoy the chill atmosphere while overlooking the river from the venue’s sunny terraces. It’s location also makes it a perfect pit stop for those of you running, skating or biking in the area.
The venue opened officially on May 11th, so head on over and let them know CitySpy sent you… Then, come back and tell us what you think in the comments!
