Everyone needs their place in the city. Your place where the barista knows you by name and by your favourite hot beverage. Your place, where your usual glass of red is on the table before you’ve even had the chance to take your coat off. You know the other regulars by name – you all share the same coffee time hours. And the cafe’s friendly cat Sasha has warmed up to you so much that he curls up next you by the fire.
My place is Kafe Orient in Kobylisy. It’s a cosy quaint coffee shop in the Dvůr farmers market, Kobylisy and my favourite spot. The hours melt as I spend hours after work sipping late’s, writing, reading books and meeting up with friends. An ideal place to enjoy some alone time, work or meet up with friends. There’s always lively music and a warm atmosphere.
Got kids? No problem, there’s a toy corner for the children and colouring pencils.
The baristas are friendly and make superb coffee. Not to mention their soup of the day….to die for. Their cakes are irresistibly amazing – walnut-chocolate cake!
If it’s a full house inside you can probably find a table in the Mongolian yert outside. Beautifully decorated, step inside this unique funky little paradise. Or enjoy their lovely terrace if you visit during the summer/
You can find this place at the Dvůr farmers markets in front of the Kobylisy tram and metro station. This is also a great area to go for a little wonder and a wholesome place to do some shopping. There are choice farmers markets in the vicinity, bio stores, a Jordanian restaurant and the occasional small pop up markets and concerts every now and then.
