If you haven’t been here before, you have got to check this place out. This teahouse is more than just a teahouse —-
The name “A Maze in Tchaiovna” is a play on the words “amazing + maze” and “tchaiovna” which means teahouse in Czech. Why maze? This teahouse is filled with many hidden doors (book-shelves that you must push/pull to reveal doorways), and secret entrances which lead to a collec-tion of rooms that you would not have imagined to be there. A great place if you need a place to hideout if it ever comes down to it.
What makes this place even more special is that it brings people together. Their mission is to keep people connected and have everyone share experiences and learn from each other. With this in mind, the teahouse holds events such as Czech and English classes, book clubs, board games, chess clubs, various workshops, theatrical plays, live music, poetry readings, art exhibitions and movies.
In addition to their events and workshops, you can warm up with a cup of tea — but not just your basic ordinary tea from the supermarket. They pride themselves by offering an excellent range of tea from around the world (recommending their Yogo Masala tea). They also offer popular and award-winning beers from microbreweries so make sure you give those a try too.
Where are they located? Just a few minutes walk from Hradcanska metro station (the green line A).
